How we assess evidence

Two small vehicle-controlled split-face studies, involving 20 and 23 participants, examined a different cream containing 0.1% 4-n-butylresorcinol for melasma. They provide ingredient-level context, not evidence for Professional Pigment Solution, whose 4-butylresorcinol concentration is not verified here.

A 42-person study tested niacinamide with tranexamic acid in another moisturiser. Results from that different formulation cannot establish the effect of this multi-ingredient product or support a treatment claim for melasma.

Where do the product information and photographs come from?

We use official CALECIM Pro product photography and summarise the manufacturer’s product-specific guidance. Selected ingredients are not complete INCI lists. Current UK packaging, full labels and prices still need verification before launch.
